Week 5: God is in the Details

  1. My favorite is the single red berry with the drop of water hanging off of it. The one right below it is brilliant in terms of the repetition of the red berries against a neutral background. The top and bottom one which is the same shot would be much stronger without the direct sunlight on it. Often times we think that the only time we can shoot is in full sun. But a shot like this, on a rainy day or a cloudy day would be more effective. Also since the largest flower in the foreground is really the focal point, that is the one that should be sharp. That's one of the biggest challenges with working in so close, getting a handle on what is sharp and what is not.
